one of those topics you're not supposed to talk about

let me just say before you read this that this is MY OPINION alone. i do not expect you to agree or disagree. however, i ask that if you leave a comment please be respectful, graceful and loving to others that may or may not disagree with you. this a very serious topic for both sides.

i have been trying to decide how i was going to write about this issue now for 2 weeks. i do not want to talk about abortion to be quite honest. it has become so politicized that individuals reading this are going to be thinking "she is just trying to change my mind, or my vote." i can't do that for you, or anyone else for that matter - only what your heart and GOD are telling you to do can change your mind.

let me first point out that in my studies of the bible i have never found a verse that says abortion is right, or even found a reference to it. if you know of the verse, or verses please post them in the comment box, or you can email me at if you are not comfortable with that.

the sensitivity of this subject has so many voices. when roe vs. wade was passed in the united states legalizing abortion it stated that a woman had the right to make the choice alone for her own body. well, that is true, but a woman's body first belongs to GOD and second to her husband (if she is married). i can hear every feminist and pro-choice activist yelling in my head right now! i do believe that the government SHOULD NOT be involved in this issue - period! this is a very personal decision.

last week on facebook i posted the history of the woman that started planned parenthood; margaret sanger. what i read was by far one of the most disgusting and disturbing bios of an individual i had ever seen. she was a female hitler in my opinion. her race of choice to exterminate were blacks. she also believed in population control; the population control of races other than white. planned parenthood is the single largest organization that supports abortions, next to the chinese government. here's a question do you still support the organization knowing its true purpose for its beginning? i can only hope that they have turned from this and they are actually educating individuals about sex and the dangers of not protecting yourself.

before i had my first child i was pro-choice. i had even begun my journey with god during this time of my life. first of all, i did not believe that it should be used as a means of birth control. i understand the fear of raising a child. it's a scary thing being responsible for another life. it is not in my dna though to believe this is a reason to abort a child. their are too many individuals out there want a child so desperately.

however during this time, i did believe that if a child became pregnant with a child, a woman had been raped, or the pregnancy was life threatening then that was ok.

that belief changed immediately when i saw my first child's heartbeat on the ultrasound screen at 3 weeks. within in 6 weeks i heard their heartbeat. if you have not heard this or seen this, then how could you believe that is not a child. i don't know why a child is conceived from a rape, only GOD does. i don't know why a 12 year old girl becomes pregnant, only GOD does. i do know that GOD creates that child for a purpose. their life and death are controlled by GOD alone; not a man or a woman.

since the beginning of time whether you are a chrisitan or not there is a purpose for human life. each child deserves to have that chance to fulfill their purpose no matter what the circumstance is in which they were conceived.

"sons are a heritage from the LORD, children are a reward from HIM." psalm 127:3
