a challenge to you for the week

our bible study last night heard a piece of imagery that everyone can use. it was meant for individuals to use in their marriage, but i think that all of us can use it in our day to day lives.

imagine whom ever you come in contact with that CHRIST is standing right next to them. can you see HIM standing there looking at you? pretty hard to get of your mind isn't it? most of us are told to listen for GOD. which if you try hard, or just put down your guard, you can. can you imagine though if you could see HIM how you would react differently in a situation.

i'm not just saying to do this with your neighbors, or someone at the store, i'm saying do it to your spouse, your child, a parent, a sibling, or a friend. can you imagine the possibilities of human kindness that could come out this. remember the movie "pay it forward?" this is in the same category; if you give generously, you receive generously.

maybe that's what is wrong with the world that we don't fear how we treat someone. that we don't fear a gesture, or a look. i'm almost laughing out loud at politicians around the world if they used this imagery what would their decisions really be? GOD gives you a set of rules to live by, and this is way as a christian to stay on course.

i'm not saying this isn't going to be hard, because we have human emotion to factor into the challenge. that old saying "stick and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" would sound a lot different if we were saying them to CHRIST'S face and not a person. this is a test of your faith in HIM and if you believe HIS words are true.

good luck to all of you that are reading and use your imagination! i know that you can see HIM.

"therefore, as GOD'S chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. forgive as the LORD forgave you." colossians 3:12-13
